How much to give as wedding gift?

Posted by admin

We are the parents of the groom. We have spent as much if not more already than the parents of the bride have. We gave a gift at the bridal shower also. We plan on just giving cash for a wedding gift to help with honeymoon expenses. We are not rich. We live in a rural area of Kansas! We both have to work and we do not make alot. How much should we give as a gift. Also paying for the rehearsal supper will cost us as they are having about 60 people at the rehearsal supper!

for an acquaintance you just met a few months before their wedding? I’m not planning on going, but want to send a gift. What’s the maximum and what’s the minimum amount of money I should put into the gift?

Thanks!

Wedding gift?!?

My friends are getting married and I want to get them an extrodinary gift. Not pots, pans, and sheets. What are some gifts, or even websites, that can help?

Going to a wedding, it’s only an hour and a half away. I have no major travel expenses, so I should give more, right? What is too much? What is too little? I’d like to just use the gift registry, but I know they’d prefer cash, and NO ONE is using the registry, anyway. What should I do?

This wedding gift is from two people, so… any ideas?

My step-brother is getting married soon and they are in NJ. We live in FL. I’ve already spent 0 on a flight for me, my husband and son to fly up there, and 0 on a hotel room. How much should I be expected to spend for a wedding gift? They have things on their registry ranging from – 0.

My friend just sent a wedding announcement. Apparently she had a very small, immediate family only, wedding last week. They are not having a reception. Should I send her (the couple) a gift? I see they registered at Macy’s (probably for the people invited to the wedding), but she didn’t mention the registry, I just found out from looking online on the website. Thoughts? Should people who had small weddings to which you weren’t invited receive wedding gifts, or no?

My son will be going to Germany to visit his girl friend and he will also attend her sister’s wedding. But not sure what to send as a wedding gift.

I recently went to a wedding for a co-worker. I gave a gift of money. I was surprised that none of my other co-workers brought a gift for the couple. We are all pretty close, so I asked why they hadn’t brought a gift. They said that since we threw her a shower, and gave gifts at work, a gift for the wedding was not necessary. I grew up in the north and now live in the south. I was wondering if this is typical in the south. Let me know what you think.
