I am moving down south to be with family when I turn 18, and I am not really looking forward to college. I have had a hard time with high school, and wanted to jump right into a career. For my wedding planning business should I tell my first client they are my first?
I’m going to college to be a wedding planner and I was thinking about how I can get started in the business. I was thinking of telling my clients I am just starting out and going to give them a 30% discount. But yet most people would see that I’m new and just turn me down and find someone else. What should I do?

I was thinking about attending the seminar of a famous wedding planner who’s been on TV for a while. No need to mention her name, you might know or have heard about her. She’s in New Jersey. I want to go because I want to get in the business, but things are a bit tough, but would make the sacrifice. The course fee is 0. Isn’t that a little too much or does it no matter since she’s famous and all? How much would you pay for an event planning course?

I live in SC and I love weddings. I am married, and have been in six weddings. Four of these weddings I have helped the bride plan, plus I did my own entirely by myself. I really need a hobby and I would love to be a wedding planner or helper. I do not care about the money at all and would be willing to travel over the state (since it is not that big). I do not know how to make this idea a reality. I am afraid women will think I am crazy if I say, hey can I help with your wedding.( and I do not know them) Unfortunately my good friends are all now married.
What should I do? Do any of you live in South Carolina and need help with a wedding (especially the middle of the state.)?
Oh and btw to the kinda rude 2nd poster. I actually do hold a degree in business with a minor in public relations….pretty close wouldn’t you think. Like i said i would love to do this on the side to help ppl, not make money..I already make enough.
